Current business trend “O2O” or “online to offline” is one of the most popular and quickly developing. Some of the O2O business ideas are purely commercial, other are mostly about the art and design. The project that I’d like to share with you today belongs to this second category. Nevertheless it doesn’t mean that it can’t have a commercial potential.
Creative designer Shu-Chun Hsiao from Taipei, Taiwan, came up with a really interesting idea – to equip big cities with free housing for the urban wild birds. Shu-Chun Hsiao decided to make birdhouses in the form of easily recognizable Google maps icon. We all know the remarkable Google Map landmark icon that shows the sites on its street views. But who have the most real experience of google map wandering? Urban birds! Birds can fly through the city, through streets and a birdhouse will become their destination as google map does.
Every modern citizen is familiar to Google maps icon, so spotting it in the city will definitely make him/her smile. And talking about the birds… Well, they do not really care what the exterior design of their home look like. The important is to have this home. So they will also benefit from this project.
