The Life Box project – XXI century green business

the life box 300x262 The Life Box project XXI century green business

Packaging goods and shipping them to long distances is a great threat to global ecology. First of all most popular packaging material is cardboar which is made out of trees, second problem is that ships generate heat trapping carbon emissions and last but not least – if packaging is not properly recycled, it becomes a waste. Is it then possible to make international shipping less unhealthy for Mother Earth? Yes, said The Life Box company!

The Life Box suite of products builds upon the synergy of fungi and plants by infusing spores and seeds together inside of packaging materials that can be planted. Each box comes from 100% recycled paper, and is therefore tree-free to produce. To offset pollution generated by shipping, each box contains 200-400 different seeds of 10 different tree species, which are dusted with mycorrhizal fungi – symbiotic organisms that boost the young tree’s ability to take up nutrients and water in exchange for CO2 provided by the tree. After the packaging is no longer needed, you can simply tear it up in pieces, plant in soil, water and let nature take its course.

From my point of view, such environmental friendly and social responsible business should be an example and an inspiration for any entrepreneur who’s thinking about starting a green business!

So, what do you think?
