Green business on recycling used chewing gum

Recycling is among the most frequently discussed questions and among most serious challenges that we face in XXI century. Streets of big cities are littered with all kind of waste and used chewing gum is what disturbs the most. It takes a lot of money for urban services to clean the sidewalks from this sticky substance. Yet there are creative people who found a way to solve the problem.
Anna Bullus, a 25 year old designer from UK noticed that chewing gum is treated as waste while it actually is made of rubber and therefore can be recycled and transformed into something else. After more then half a year in the chemistry lab she created a new plastic polymer. From this polymer Anna created the Gumdrop Bin – a bin for recycling gum. Once it fills up, all the gum is used to make more bins.
As far as I know Gumdrop trials are only available in the UK. But such product is definitely necessary in states and I’m sure government would find sources to support such unique recycling project. Perfect idea for successful green business!
