Bizarre business – make millions on break-up calls

Sometimes an unusual business ideas comes to your mind more as a joke, then as a way to earn living. I suppose that’s exactly how Rejection Hotline started. Yet sometimes these weird ideas transform into a successful business.
Jeff Goldblatt of Massachusetts created Rejection Hotline – an automated tool for rejecting unwanted suitors. You can give this number to an unwanted would-be suitor and when the recipient calls “you” to arrange a date, they will hear a recorded message letting them know, in a humorous way, of your disinterest.
During the first year of existence hotline served 600 000 clients and Jeff realized all the perspectives of his small business. He renamed Rejection Hotline to RH Brands and opened new hotlines like „It Could Always Suck More” Hotline, “Psychiatric Hotline” , “Angry Santa Hotline”. What started as a joke turned out to be Goldblatt’s biggest success – in the year 2008 company earned $841 000 while in 2009 the income was already $ 2.5 millions.
The story of RH Brands proves once again that every idea, even if it seems to be really bizarre, is worth trying. Only then you can make sure that it will never work or that from now on you are the owner of a successful business.
