Exotic tours via Africa by truck inspired 33-year old entrepreneur from Brazil Flavio Merlo to start an unusual hospitality business – create a hotel on wheels. He decided to adopt the basic principle of organizing cheap tours for the extravagant travelers who are willing to neglect the comfort for the sake of enjoying wildlife and the beauty of local landscapes.
Exotic Tours in Brazil on a truck Scania, which is converted into a hotel on wheels called Exploranter, costs only 130 reals ($ 40) per night per person. To be frank, for this money the tourists have to wash the dishes, clean the table and help with cooking.
Maximum number of participants – 20 people, tours last from 3 to 7 days depending on the program. This unusual hotel has everything you need for tourist accommodation – kitchen, lounge and 20-bedded bedroom recreation. On the second floor of the van, where are the tourists during the day, enjoying the local beauty and listening to tales of the speaker in English – the owner of hotel – Flavio Merlot, all are rehabilitated like a train – seats and tables.
In the main compartment of the van, what Flavio calls Romeo, is a kitchen, sleeping in a four-tier measuring 6 feet 8 inches to 2 feet 6 inches, three bathrooms with toilet, sink and shower are decorated with plastic in the rear compartment, which is called Juliet.
