Flower business is among the most conservative businesses with very few niches to choose from. You can sell single flowers, bouquets, floral compositions and, probably, that’s it. The only unusual flower business idea I’ve ever heard of is printing on flowers (see „Unusual florist business: printing on flowers”). But today I’ve stumbled upon another interesting idea for florists who would like to offer their clients something really special.

Russian company „Oscar” entered the market with unique idea – flower piercing. Company targets those clients, mostly men, who wish to make their „floral gift” more personalized. They can choose from lightweight pendants designed as butterfly, dragonfly, flower etc. adorned with colourful crystals. Rare woman can remain indifferent to such unusual gift. Prices are very moderate (100-150 RUB – around $3-$4) what ensures high and stable demand.

This interesting business idea is really attractive due to three reasons: do not require much investment (pendants are made from cheap materials), easy to realize (pendants’ design is quiet simple and it won’t be a great problem to find a jeweller for such work), easy to promote (unusual business ideas always get a lot of free advertising in blogs and media). Definitely worth trying!
