Tim Hortons rimroller – interesting business idea

interesting business idea

Tim Hortons rimroller

Sometimes to start a successful business you don’t have to invent a new business idea, you can simply come up with something that’s designed specially for an already existing and popular product.

One of Canada’s major coffee shop chains Tim Hortons holds a very large marketing campaign called Roll Up The Rim to Win. Over thirty million prizes are distributed each year, including vehicles, televisions, and store products. Customers determine if they have won prizes by unrolling the rim on their paper cup when they have finished their drink.

The problem is that it’s not so easy to reach the code and Paul Kind was the one who offered a perfect solution. He invented the Rimroller, a keychain accessory that simply slips over the rim of a paper coffee cup and with one quick pull cuts and unrolls the rim to expose the code. This unusual accessory costs only $2.5 per piece and without spending a pence on advertising, he’s already sold 200 000 pieces.

That’s a great example of how to start a successful business by using imagination to upgrade or complete a popular product or service. Take a look around and maybe you’ll find something that need to be upgraded and this will be a beginning of your own profitable business.
