The steps going about opening your own online store are easier than you think. Below is a quick checklist, from your domain to your merchant account.

  • Develop a business plan
  • Decide on the products you are going to sell and through what vendors
  • Research the legal documents needed for your business
  • Choose a Domain and Host, ie. godaddy.com
  • Will you sell directly or through a merchant?
  • Decide on a web designer or software program to design your site
  • Decide whether you need a software platform, such as a program to monitor your daily business activities.
  • Research the credit card processing service you will use.
