glove-love

Starting from September the budget of my family gets an extra position in the section of expenses – gloves. I lose gloves at least once a month (usually much more often) and have to buy new pairs all the time. As far as I know this is quiet a common problem for many people and this makes me think that the unusual green business idea described below should be really commercially successful!

British charity foundation Green Thing discovered a way to make money on lost gloves: they accept „lonely” gloves from citizens, find them a more or less suitable pair according to size, colour and style and sell for 5 pounds. The project „Glove Love” was found first of all to earn cash for other charity projects, but it also protects the environment. If enthusiasts didn’t collect „lonely” gloves, they would most probably end at dumps. Besides there is no need to produce new items and spend valuable energy.

This unusual business is truly great as it is both socially responsible and green as well as profitable. Hope there will be more similar companies in other Europeans countries and outside Europe.
