Unusual business idea in times of crisis: support business & earn living

A wise man once said that „in crisis lies the opportunity” and he was 100% right! When global economy is downshifting, creative people with innovative thinking improve their financial situation by starting the unusual business.
Cinda Baxter from Minneapolis is one of those, who decided to benefit the situation. It took her literarily few days to create, launch and promote an Internet project the350project.net which is supposed to support local producers in times of economic crisis.
It all started from a post in Cinda’s blog, where he promised to save local business for USD 50. This unusual idea attracted internet user’s attention and the only question was: „what should we do?” Cinda realized that this could be a great opportunity for an unusual business and launched the350project.net site. The idea is simple: each user can choose 3 business markets in the region that he would like to save from bankruptcy and once a month spend USD 50 for their products of services. Why USD 50? Because according to statistics if half of economically active population in this region will invest USD 50 in local market, then it’s annual income will be around 42 billion USD.
By the way Cinda is not only helping her region’s business to survive, but she’s also earning her living. She launched an e-shop on the project’s webpage, selling coffee mugs, tote bags and other stuff with project’s symbolic. People gladly buy them as thus they support this socially important project. Great business idea, great performance and great commercial potential!
