plush-toys

Although I’m natively Russian speaking in my blog I mostly write about unusual business ideas that were presented in Europe or USA as successful and innovative ideas usually get much more promotion there. It’s way much easier to find an interesting story on English sites and blogs then to dig out an unusual idea that was born in ex-USSR countries. Still sometimes I get lucky enough to find something really catchy in Russian internet and today was that lucky day!

Surfing the web I stumbled upon a website voobrazhala.ru (meaning of “voobrazhala” in Russian is close to “dreamer”) – a studio that designs and creates plush toys by your child’s drawings. Small kids usually live in a fantasy world and quiet often draw strange imaginary animals. If you’ll order a toy according to this „sketch”, then it surely will be an unforgettable gift for your little dreamer and will never get lost among dozens of other plush toys in his/her room.

To make an order a user of voobrazhala.ru has to scan or make a photo of the drawing and send it to website owners by e-mail. They’ll fix the price of work according to the difficulty level, charge you a certain sum as prepayment and in one week your child will receive his/her perfect gift!

In my point of view that’s a truly unusual business idea with great potential. You don’t need massive investment to start it up (basic website will do), don’t need to spend a lot on promotion (viral marketing is guaranteed), don’t need high technologies for production (experienced seamstress will cope with nearly any order). Easy, catchy, low budget – what else is need for successful business during crisis?
