Old idea – innovative approach
August 21st, 2008
The first and the most important rule of successful business – be the first one to launch a product or service. Unfortunately not all of us have imagination and experience to invent something new, fresh and with good potential. If you are eager to start your business, but there is nothing new you can offer, then use another method: start offering a product that already exists on the market, but make it different, more attractive and innovative. And here are some good examples of how to make an ordinary thing – a top-seller and great commercial success!
Swarovski-studded Toaster

A unique masterpiece from designer Russell Hobbs, limited-editioa – only 500 units. if you like gazing at a little bit of luxury as you huddle over your breakfast coffee then this is your $300 baby.
Nespresso Limited Edition Sparkle Essenza

Can you imagine your glamorous morning toast without a cup of hot coffee? Well, if you have Swarowski-studded Toaster at home, then your next goal should be one of these two fashion-forward coffee machines with ‘bodies’ covered in Swarovski crystals. 100 Limited Edition Sparkle Pink and 100 Limited Edition Brilliant Black Essenza machines will be available at the Nespresso Boutique Bar in NY. Both bejewelled models will retail for $1,000.
Gold-Plated Capresso Coffee Center

And, if you are looking for more shine in your kitchen, then this limited edition 24-karat gold-plated Coffee Center will give the Midas-touch to your kitchen! This coffee machine makes perfectly brewed coffee, espresso, latte, cappuccino, and other delicious coffee drinks and is limited to just 555 units. It will be yours if you’re ready to say „goodbye” to $2,799.
Swarovski-bedazzled Nespresso Coffee Maker

If you’ve covered your entire kitchen in gold and diamonds and want to add a it a touch of elegancy, the Nespresso Crystal Edition coffee machine is what you really need! It’s covered with 3100 Swarovski crystals and will cost you some $4,000. It comes with a removable grill for macciato lattes, sports an illuminated collecting pan for your used coffee capsules, and does it all with the single press of a shiny button.
Gold-Plated Juicer

We’ve finished with toasts and coffee, now lets talk about fresh juice which also is an important part of your breakfast. This gold-plated juicer for $3,000 is a live enzyme “nutrition extractor” that also works well at extracting money from your bank account… It also turns the phrase “carat juice” from a spelling mistake into a sad yet viable proposition… Your kitchen is already full of shining utensils? Well, there is also a stainless steel version of this juicer which will set you back $1,016. What a bargain!

I suppose you can gold plate or dazzle up any ‘ordinary’ object now a days!
For the argument of revamping old products so they are new and innovative is something we see from big time business all the time. Apple does it constantly, every year they put out a new Ipod, changing slightly simple aspects. Whether it is the colour, style, memory that has improved, the ‘new’ version just builds on their success of previous versions.
New versions of successful ideas is a great way to start if you are stuck on ideas, but where you will really be able to expand and have your business grow is if you can be individually creative.
