In the last few years internet became a essential part of our lives and the possibilities it gives are astonishing. I believe everyone already knows about the project „Second Life” created in 2003 in San Francisco.

The name of this community reveals it’s main idea – the majority of people are dreaming of something, that they have never and probably will never experience. I knew about a huge popularity of Second Life, but didn’t pay much attention to it. But few days ago I saw a TV show about all kind of internet staff and it made me change my mind completely.

With a creation of Second Life people got an opportunity to make their dreams come true at least in virtual reality and they showed a great enthusiasm by starting to buy houses and make new friends in this community. But as I have found out from the show this is only one side of the medal. The other one is a possibility to earn real money, hundred of thousands dollars a year, maybe even millions!

In this show there were 2 interviews with people who are getting real income in Second Life

First hero was an afro-American woman, aged 38, a single mother of 3 children. She always dreamed of becoming fashion designer, but it turned out that all her life she spend working on $5/ per hour. Second Life gave her a chance of opening a virtual (!) boutique for selling virtual (!) clothes in virtual Paris. The income from this virtual shop which sells virtual clothes to virtual people reached 36 000 real (!) dollars during the first year. This lady has already left her work and plans to double her income in 2008. By the way, the opening of this shop cost her only $500.

Second hero is a 45 year old man – a diligent family man and a religious person. In his second life he has chosen himself an image of a stunning young blond lady in tight silver suit. He spends 8 hours/ per day in community and says that the young lady’s look helps him in establishing contacts with companies who opened their virtual offices in Second Life and signing contracts with them. In Second Life he earns much more then on his main work.

Unlimited business possibilities of Second Life are attracting huge international companies like Nissan and average people. I strongly believe that this phenomena is really able to change our lives and give us another possibility of establishing high profit business with low budget or even without it!
