Can anything good come from heartache? According to entrepreneur Joshua Opperman, the answer is yes. Opperman started an auction website called I Do…Now I Don’t - a site that matches people who are looking to sell engagement rings they no longer need or want with buyers who are in the market for a great deal.
This unusual business started when one day Joshua came back home from a hard day at work and realized that all his fiancées staff was gone and all that was left was the engagement ring lying on the table. Besides being completely devastated about the situation he was left wondering what to do with this ring. Joshua tried to decide whether he should keep it and save it for the next girl or should he sell it back to the jeweler? Finally he decided he didn’t want to see that ring ever again and could use the money. So, he went back to the jeweler and tried to sell it. That was then, when he was told that the ring that he had spent his life savings on could only be bought back at 32% of its original cost. Needless to say, he kept the ring for hopes that one day, he could sell it for what it was really worth and the website is his answer.
As you see this story started as a tragedy, but ended as a story of business success! It means that if you are dreaming of your own successful home business – use any idea and any opportunity for the beginning, no matter how they appeared!
