Bureau of employment histories

Employers frequently complain on unscrupulous employees. Here’s an interesting business idea of how to help them and at the same time start a high profit small business with minimal investments.
This business idea was born in Russia. The owner of a small grocery shop once told his friend about the biggest problems he has with his employees: quiet often he hires a new employee, who works in the shop for some few months and then retire. After he leaves, the owner finds out that a certain amount of money has been stolen. Of course there’s always a possibility to sue him, but it takes a lot of time and, besides, it’s hard to prove his guilt. Many people understand it and travel from one working place to another to commit such small robberies without being punished.
After this conversation a friend of this shop owner decided to create a data base of all employees in his town and named it „Bureau of employment histories”. All you need to establish such company is:
• Personnel: you and another person for courier job
• Office: office is not necessary. You just need a telephone line at your home or somewhere else.
• Equipment: computer (lap-top would be better), scanner, fax or fax program installed in your computer and your skills to work with any of the data base programs (at least Microsoft Excel)
The closest analogue to what you are going to do is a bureau of credit histories.
Your first step after registering the company:
1. to establish contacts with owners, directors or human resource managers of big and small companies in your town (or even in your region or country) by sending them faxes with description of your company, it’s mission and advantages which every employer will get from such data base.
2. advertise your data base in the places, where potential clients-employers and employees could read it: labour exchange offices, newspapers with special sections for work advertisements etc.).
In result you should get a data base with all possible information (only official and proven) on employment history of different employees. To make your data base more detailed you can divide history of each employees in 2 lists: black (any negative information on this person) and white (good references and characteristics of this person).
Employers will be happy to give out negative information on their employees for free (mostly because they were offended by these people or because these employees had caused financial loses to their companies). It is very essential to have written proves of their gilts and lapses. These documents should be scanned and kept for future use.
It will be much harder to get good information from employers, but you’ll definitely get it from employees, who will want their future employers (your potential clients) to know about their experience, skills etc. It’s also important to have some written documents which can prove such information.
I also would like to stress your attention on one important moment: you or your courier should personally re-check all the information handed in by employees with their ex-employers to avoid any mistakes or false data.
Your second step now is to relax and get profit from this unusual business! As soon as you consider your data base to be more or less completed, you should start a big advertising campaign to tell everyone about your company’s services and also to invite employees and employers who have not yet been registered in your data base.
The system of getting profit could be as follows: employer, who wants to check his potential employee make a prepayment (it can be somewhere around 15-20 USD). After this you check if such person is available in your data base. If not, then you return 2/3 of this sum to the payer and keep 1/3 for spending your time on searching. If there is any information on this person, then you keep the whole sum. If this person is registered in your data base, but due to some reasons information about his employment history is not proven (there are no written documents), then you warn your client about it and keep only the half of the payment.
So, as you see, this interesting idea is quiet simple, yet can give quiet a significant profit. Think it’s definitely worth spending your time on it!
