During the last few years Internet has become an integral part of our life. In Europe and USA nearly all companies, both small and large, have a web-page representing their products or services. Lately the majority of companies also develope and promote e-shops to boost sales. But as I have recently found - this situation is not so common for Russia.
Russian Internet segment is still not as developed as European. Web-page is a “must have” only for large and medium-sized companies while small businesses do not concider it to be so neccesary in their work. Besides, the development of a web-page is not such an easy and cheap thing and not every small company can afford it. Probably this situation was the main reason for Russian company Florist.ru to offer such service as “iFlorist”.
Company announced that they ended a testing of new product which will give the opportunity to have an e-shop to every small flower shop in Russia. According to the article on their web-page the development of an e-shop will take only 5 minutes and will let the company obtain milllions of potential clients all around the country. This is of course an exageration, but still it’s obvious that an e-shop will definitely help attracting new customers.
The main advantage of this product is that Florist.ru offers a ready-made solution including installation and further support which will let every flower shop make their own e-shop. Shop owners can choose from variety of designs and order some few additional functions.
Of course it’s not an innovative WEB 2.0 idea, but still it’s quiet an interesting project for Russia. Country already has a great number of people who prefer to order everything via web and they will definitely appreciate the idea of choosing and buying flowers in the Internet during their working day instead of waisting their time on going to the shop personally after the work.
From my point of view this is a great low cost business idea! If you are the owner of an e-shop selling any type of goods, then simply take it’s programme source, add some new options (for example 2-3 optional designs) and start selling a ready-made e-shop solution to small shop-owners. Investments in such project will be extremely low and at the same time your profit can be quiet significant!
